Germany's ferrous scrap exports fell y-o-y

14% decrease was realized as 7.7 million tons. This figure was equivalent to the lowest level since the economic crisis and the most severe decline in 2009. Despite the decline in export volume, the value of these exports reached 4.9 billion Euros in 2022, up 8.9% y-o-y.

In this period, Germany's scrap exports to the Netherlands had the largest share, with volume falling 17.8% y-o-y to 1.6 million tons. In terms of imports, Germany imported around 4.3 million tons of scrap in 2022, down 12% y-o-y.
