Export record was broken in the Automotive sector in March

Compared to the same period of the previous year, exports in March increased by 22.8 and reached 3.3 billion dollars. Thanks to the export values it provides, the automotive industry ranks first in the field of export in Turkey.

The export share of the automotive industry was announced as 13.9 percent. In the first quarter of the year, the exports of the automotive sector increased by 15.8 percent and reached the level of 8 billion 619 million dollars. OIB Chairman of the Board of Directors Baran Çelik said, “The historical record we achieved on a monthly basis in March has been an important motivation for us to reach our target of 34 billion dollars in the 100th year of our Republic. Despite all the negativities experienced on a global scale, we are focused on contributing to the export-oriented growth of our country.

Most exports were made to EU countries

High value sales were made in France, Spain and Poland. OIB Chairman of the Board of Directors Baran Çelik said that there were high rates of increase in the exports of tractor and passenger cars in March. According to the data obtained, in March, exports of 2.3 billion dollars were made to the EU countries, which is the largest market with a share of 70 percent on a country group basis, with an increase of 29 percent. While other European countries ranked second among country groups with a share of 12 percent, exports to this country group increased by 20 percent. There was a 212 percent increase in exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States.
