El Sharara field in Libya has resumed operations

Libya's El Sharara field, with a 300,000 b/d capacity, has resumed production after the release of a key politician in Tripoli.

The arrest of former finance minister Faraj Boumtari on 12 July shut down El Feel field and El Sharara by 14 July.

El Sharara output was kept online to supply the nearby 640MW Ubari power plant, which typically requires 15,000-20 b/d. El Sharara and El Feel account for nearly a third of the country's crude production capacity.
