According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's slab imports in May 2026 decreased by 7.28% year on year to 370,082 mt, down from 399,123 mt in the same month of the previous year.
During the January-May period, slab imports fell by 22.30% year on year to 1,268,041 mt, compared to 1,631,876 mt in the corresponding period of last year.
In May, the Russian Federation remained Türkiye's largest slab supplier with 247,611 mt, followed by Malaysia with 51,625 mt, Libya with 45,310 mt, and Algeria with 25,487 mt.
