According to the National Steel Distributors Institute (INDA), falling sales of heavy plate and cold-rolled coils are also causing a decline in shipments. Flat product shipments from Brazilian independent distributors down by 11.6% m-o-m in December 2022. On an annual basis, it decreased 1.7% to 257,000 tonnes.
Between January and December, total flat product imports amounted to about 1.7 million tons, down by 17.2% y-o-y.
