China's stainless steel imports totaled about 118,000 tons in June, down 16.7% from the previous month and 56.5% from a year ago. Imports from Indonesia were down 20.5% m/m and 58.8% y/y to 91,000 tons.
China exported about 343,000 tons of stainless steel in June, down 2.5% m/m and down 30% y/y.
In the first half of this year, China's stainless steel imports totaled 842,000 tons, down 50% year on year. Imports from Indonesia during this period decreased by 54.7% to 643,000 tons.
Meanwhile, exports amounted to about 2 million tons, down 15.8% compared to the same period last year.
