China’s rebar and wire rod production decreased in August

China's rebar production amounted to around 19.25 million tons in August this year, down by 5.8% compared to the same month a year ago, according to statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) of China. The output of wire rods was 12.6 million tons during the period, a year-on-year drop of 0.4%.

In the first eight months of this year, China’s rebar output decreased by 14% to approximately 155.4 million tons y-o-y. The production of wire rods in the given period slid 12.3% year on year to 95.9 million tons.
