The China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) released production data for major steel enterprises for the final 10 days of July 2026.
According to the data, major steel producers affiliated with CISA produced a total of 20.51 million mt of crude steel during the period. Average daily crude steel production stood at 1.864 million mt, with a %7.5 decrease compared with the previous 10-day period.
Pig iron production decreased by %4.7
Major steel producers recorded total pig iron production of 19.3 million mt during the same period.
Average daily pig iron production stood at 1.754 million mt, with production decreasing by %4.7 compared with the previous period.
Finished steel production reached a total of 21.8 million mt. Average daily production was calculated at 1.982 million mt, with a %2.7 increase compared with the previous period.
China’s daily crude steel production estimated at 2.52 million mt
Based on CISA data, China’s average daily crude steel production was estimated at 2.52 million mt during the final 10 days of July. This figure represented a %7.5 decrease compared with the previous period.
The country’s average daily pig iron production was estimated to have decreased by %4.7 to 2.22 million mt.
Average daily finished steel production was estimated at 4.16 million mt, increasing by %0.6 compared with the previous period.
