China's coal imports increased in May

In May this year, China's coal imports amounted to around 39.6 million tons, a decrease of 2.7% compared to April and an increase of 92.6% y-o-y. The value of imports in this period amounted to US$4.61 billion.

In the first five months of 2023, China's coal imports increased by 90% compared to the same period of 2022 and reached approximately 182.1 million tons. The value of imports in this period amounted to USD 23.2 billion.
