Brazil’s scrap exports hit the record low down by 87.54% to 6,000 tons in July this year. Brazilian real’s drop against the US dollar and the low international market prices are the main reasons of this fall.
During this period, Brazil exported most of their scrap to Bangladesh with 2,220 tons, followed by India with approximately 1,000 tons and Congo with 530 tons.
On the other hand, Brazil's scrap imports in July decreased by 43.61% compared to the same month of a year earlier, to 6,400 tons. They imported most of their scrap from Paraguay with 4,200 tons, Bolivia with 1,000 tons and the USA with 860 tons, respectively.
