Automotive Industry Association (OSD) shared the sector's production data for July. Accordingly, the total production of the automotive sector in July fell by 44.6 percent to 65 thousand 418; automobile production, on the other hand, decreased by 56.9 percent to 33 thousand 529.
Total exports of the automotive industry, on the other hand, decreased by 35.1% to 50 thousand 781, while automobile exports decreased by 50.6 percent to 25 thousand 747.
In the first 7 months of the year, the production of the sector increased by 11 percent.
In the January-July period of 2021, total production increased by 11 percent and automobile production increased by 2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. In this period, total production was 705 thousand 79 units, while automobile production was 449 thousand 550 units.
In the January-July period of 2021, the total market increased by 31 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 461 thousand 730 units. In this period, the automobile market increased by 27 percent and amounted to 346 thousand 636 units.
The biggest increase rate is in the heavy commercial group.
In the commercial vehicle group, production increased by 30 percent in the January-July 2021 period, while it increased by 56 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group and 28 percent in the light commercial vehicle group. Compared to the January-July period of 2020, the commercial vehicle market increased by 95 percent, the light commercial vehicle market by 40 percent and the heavy commercial vehicle market by 112%.
In the January-July period of 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year, total automotive exports increased by 7 percent on the basis of units, while automobile exports decreased by 3 percent. In this period, total exports amounted to 512 thousand 320 units, while automobile exports amounted to 322 thousand 874 units.
In the January-July 2021 period, compared to the same period of the previous year, total automotive exports increased by 27 percent in dollar terms and 17 percent in euro terms compared to the same period of the previous year. In this period, total automotive exports amounted to 16.7 billion dollars, while automobile exports increased by 7 percent to 5.4 billion dollars. Automobile exports in Euro terms decreased by 1 percent to 4.5 billion euros.
