According to SteelRadar data, Poland's rebar market, which last declined by EUR 10 on 29 April, was calculated at EUR 615/EXW. Rebar prices, which have been trading at the same prices since the last change, remained stable in the week of 6 May.
The situation was similar in Germany, another country in Northern Europe. According to the data, rebar prices in Germany, which were last traded at EUR 625 on 22 April, down by EUR13, remained unchanged on 6 May. Sources said that the rebar sector, which started to slow down in 2023, is reflected in these times, while most producers have started to produce long products with electricity and are also affected by rising energy prices.
According to SteelRadar data, Italian rebar prices, which traded at EUR 570 during April, gained momentum by EUR 20 on 29 April and rose to EUR 590. On 6 May, they continued to trade at the same price. The same situation was observed in Spain, another country in Southern Europe. After a drop of EUR 22 on 22 April, prices dropped to EUR 583 and continued to trade at a stable price during the week of 6 May.
Sources in Italy reported that margins remained under pressure. Weak consumption and buyers' fear of commitments are expected to continue.
