According to SteelRadar data, rebar prices decreased in many European countries in the first week of April, but remained stable in the following week.
The rebar market in Poland started the week of April 8 on a stable note, trading at EUR 628, down by EUR 7 in the first week of April. Sources emphasized that the local rebar trade in Poland has slowed down, while low prices have not encouraged trading and no significant deals have been heard in the market. In Germany, another country in Northern Europe, the rebar market has been stable for a long time with prices at EUR 640 per tonne.
The last change in the rebar market in Spain was at EUR 605 at the beginning of March and it continued to be traded at the same price during the week of April 8. The situation was no different in Italy in southern Europe, where the rebar market traded at EUR 570 last week, down by EUR 5, and was trading at the same level in the week to April 8.
Rebar prices in France averaged around EUR620/ton, sources reported, noting that the domestic construction sector has been stagnant.
