EU HRC producers stopped their offers

Major European steelmakers remained dormant in the domestic hot rolled coil market on April 17 due to full order books and technical problems at some mills.

EU HRC producers stopped their offers

The number of European offers available on the market decreased due to the impact of technical problems at some plants, including fires in two blast furnaces at Arcelormittal plants in Spain and France, and scheduled maintenance at some plants, including Tata Steel in the Netherlands and ArcelorMittal in Poland.

ArcelorMittal is said not to plan its roll offer until the end of April.

Local hot rolled coil prices in Northwest Europe were unchanged at EUR 840/mt Ruhr ex-works on April 17.

Local hot rolled coil prices in Southern Europe are evaluated as Eur 840/mt Italian ex-works, which is still stable on a daily basis.

Following the bearish trend in Asia, import offers decreased further.

Hot rolled coil offers from Asia were heard at EUR 660-700/mt CIF Italy and decreased by around EUR 20/mt compared to previous offers.
