The European Commission said on Friday it has extended anti-dumping tariffs on stainless steel fittings from China and Taiwan for five years, extending it to include Malaysia.
The Commission's review of the measures concluded that removing tariffs would result in sustained dumping of around €100m ($111m) per year in a European Union market.
The measures implemented on stainless steel pipes and pipe fittings since 2017 have been expanded to include Malaysia as the investigation revealed that Chinese manufacturers are using their assembly operations there to evade the applicable tariffs.
Taxes range from 5.1 percent to 12.1 percent for Taiwan and 30.7 percent to 64.9 percent for China. It is said that the rate of imports from Malaysia is 64.9 percent.
