Asian markets mixed due to coronavirus

The increase in the cases of the coronavirus epidemic in Asia combined with the Christmas holiday, the markets are following a calm course. Except for Chinese locomotive stocks, stock markets are also falling.

Asian stock markets and US crude oil declined as the uncertainty created by the Omicron variant in the economy overshadowed the risk appetite, while trading volumes remained low due to the holiday period.

CORONAVIRUS CASE RISE IN CHINA
In China, the highest increase in coronavirus cases in 21 months was recorded on a daily basis, while cases in the northwestern city of Xian more than doubled.

Japan's Nikkei index fell 0.25 percent, while South Korea's KOSPI index fell 0.11 percent. While the Shanghai benchmark index fell 0.37 percent, Chinese locomotive shares rose 0.05 percent. Australian, Hong Kong and UK stock markets are closed for a holiday.
