According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's wire rod imports in July 2024 decreased by 41.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, dropping from 67,316 tons to 39,458 tons. Compared to the previous month, it increased by 65.4%.
Total wire rod imports for the January-July period decreased by 51% from 464,862 tons to 227,837 tons.
China led the countries from which Türkiye imported wire rod in July with 21,298.7 tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 4,605.6 tons, South Korea with 3,973.3 tons, the United Kingdom with 2,813.2 tons, and Germany with 2,193.2 tons.
