According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye’s iron ore imports increased by 45.5% year on year in April, rising from 988,846 tons to 1,449,026 tons. Compared to March, imports surged by 84.5%.
During the January–April period, total iron ore imports increased by 33.9%, rising from 3,082,672 tons to 4,128,211 tons.
In April, Brazil and Russia ranked as Türkiye’s two largest suppliers of iron ore. Imports from Brazil totaled 878,262 tons, while Russia followed with 264,349 tons.
