Turkish port authorities have unofficially begun requesting written declarations from ship agents, stating that the vessels have no connections to Israel and are not carrying military or hazardous cargo into the country.
Within this scope, Israel-linked vessels will not be allowed to dock at Turkish ports or carry out container transfers. Sources speaking to Reuters indicated that port administrations have given verbal instructions to agents to provide written guarantees, although no official circular has been issued on the matter.
One source noted that the measure applies to all ports across Türkiye, while another stated that the guarantee letter must explicitly confirm that the shipowners, operators, and managers have no ties to Israel, and that the vessel does not carry certain cargo such as explosives, radioactive materials, or military equipment destined for Israel.
