Turkey became the third in the world in international contracting

40 companies from Turkey were included in the 2021 list of the "World's Top 250 International Contractors" by the international construction industry magazine ENR.

Turkey ranked third in the world with 40 companies in the "World's Top 250 International Contractors" 2021 list.

According to the written statement made by the Turkish Contractors Association (TMB), in the list published by the International construction industry magazine Engineering News Record (ENR) based on the revenues of the contractors from their activities abroad in the previous year, Turkey, 40 companies, China (78 companies) and the USA are listed. He came in third after (41).

The number of Turkish contractors among the top 100 companies in the list according to their international project revenues was 7. A Turkish contracting firm was also among the top 30 international contracting firms.

With $18.3 billion in revenue from construction companies, Turkey took a 4.4 percent share of the global market, ranking eighth among countries.

The activities of Turkish companies are concentrated in Europe (8 billion dollars) and then the Middle East (5.9 billion dollars), where the largest market is Russia.

Turkish companies in ENR's "World's Top 250 International Contractors List" are as follows:

Making evaluations on the subject, TMB President Erdal Eren once again stated that they congratulated the success of the contracting companies and technical consultants abroad by the world-renowned ENR Magazine.

Pointing out that the success of the companies is very important despite the extraordinary conditions created by the epidemic and shrinking market that shook the whole world starting from 2020, the competitive conditions that are getting harder every day, Eren said:

"As a result of these performances of our companies, our country became the third in the world ranking after China and the USA. We lent the second place in the world, which we have held for a long time, to the USA with a margin of one firm this year. 34 of our 40 companies on the list are members of our union. It also makes us proud. As TMB, we see ourselves as the center of our overseas contracting services."

Stating that the implementation of major infrastructure projects that will support the recovery in the world economy for the coming period gives them hope, Eren said, "For this reason, our target of reaching a new project of 20 billion dollars in the short term abroad, which we put forward before the epidemic, continues. "The international success of our contractors and consultants means more foreign currency inflows to our economy with an increase in our exports of services and goods, and more employment opportunities for the Turkish workforce. Our global successes are an important resource for our economy." made evaluations.

The international construction market contracted by 11 percent

Pointing out that this shrinkage in the market is the biggest thing experienced on an annual basis since 2003, when the list was published, it was stated in the bulletin that many international contracting companies took steps to make their operations more flexible after 1.5 years with the epidemic.
