Ford Otosan has announced its investment plan for the next-generation heavy commercial vehicle cabin to be developed in collaboration with Ford Trucks and IVECO. The company plans to make a net investment of approximately EUR 364 million through 2030 for production at its own facility.
The investment will be carried out gradually, with EUR 122 million of the total investment already implemented as part of pre-feasibility activities.
The next-generation cabin, to be jointly developed by Ford Trucks and IVECO, is expected to be gradually introduced into production in 2028.
The new cabin will be designed to comply with the European Union’s emissions and safety requirements. Featuring advanced safety systems, an aerodynamic structure and a driver-focused design, the cabin is expected to support Ford Trucks’ growth and competitiveness in the European market.
Ford Trucks and IVECO collaboration
The program will bring together the engineering expertise and resources of the two brands. The collaboration aims to improve product quality, achieve cost and scale advantages, and strengthen competitiveness in the European market.
The partnership between Ford Trucks and IVECO was initiated with a non-binding letter of intent signed in 2024. In March 2025, the companies signed a Joint Development Agreement to jointly carry out the design and engineering work for the next-generation heavy commercial vehicle cabin.
Ford Trucks and IVECO will manufacture and assemble the jointly developed cabin at their respective facilities. Each company will customize the product according to its own design approach and customer requirements and market it under its respective brand.
Emrah Duman, Deputy General Manager responsible for Ford Trucks, said the next-generation cabin program is one of the company’s most important product initiatives as it prepares for the future of transportation.
Duman stated that, through the cooperation with IVECO, they aim to develop a strong cabin family that complies with European regulations and offers advanced standards in safety, aerodynamics, comfort and efficiency.
Emphasizing the importance of the next-generation cabin for both Ford Trucks’ growth targets in Europe and its customers in Türkiye, Duman noted that the project will reflect the company’s engineering and product development capabilities while supporting the brand’s competitiveness in international markets.
