Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co, Japan's largest electric arc furnace steelmaker, said on Monday it will keep steel product prices unchanged in June to allow the market to adopt the hikes made earlier this year.
The company has kept the prices of all steel products, including H-beam, unchanged for two months. Tokyo Steel had increased the prices of some products in March and April.
For June, steel bar prices, including rebar, will remain at 103,000 yen ($743.94) per tonne, while H-beam prices will be set at 127,000 yen ($917.28) per tonne.
Tokyo Steel's prices are closely watched by Asian rivals such as South Korea's Posco and Hyundai Steel and China's Baoshan Iron & Steel Co Ltd (Baosteel).
