The foreign trade deficit in the USA increased by 4.2 percent on a monthly basis to $ 73.3 billion in August, reaching a record level.

The USA Department of Commerce announced foreign trade data for August. Accordingly, the country's foreign trade deficit increased by 4.2 percent in August compared to the previous month and reached 73.3 billion dollars.
The foreign trade deficit, which increased again after the contraction in the previous month, was expected to be 70.5 billion dollars. The foreign trade deficit, which rose to a record level in this period, was 70.3 billion dollars in July. 

While the trade deficit between the USA and China, with which the relations are sensitive, increased during this period, the trade deficit with Mexico decreased. . While US exports to China were 11.2 billion dollars in this period, imports from the country were recorded as 39.2 billion dollars. The trade deficit between the USA and Canada increased by 37.8 percent in August, reaching 5.1 billion dollars. The country's foreign trade deficit with Mexico, on the other hand, decreased by approximately 22.4 percent to $6.6 billion. Other trade partners with which the United States had a deficit in the said period include the European Union (19.3 billion dollars), Germany (5.8 billion dollars). ), Japan ($5.6 billion), Taiwan ($3.6 billion), South Korea ($3.1 billion), Italy ($3.1 billion), India ($3 billion), and France (1, 4 billion dollars).
