According to the latest statistics released by the USA International Trade Commission (USITC), the USA exported approximately 1.48 million tons of scrap in October this year, up 18.3% month on month and 2.6% higher than the same month last year.
Among these, exports to Turkey had the largest share, with approximately 332,300 tons, a monthly decrease of approximately 14% and an annual decrease of 10.3%. Other major export destinations include Mexico (about 185,800 tons), Vietnam (about 154,800 tons), Taiwan (about 141,800 tons) and Pakistan (about 99,900 tons).
Export value during this period was roughly $657 million, up 14.8 percent month on month and 92.1 percent year on year.
