According to the data of the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), US rebar imports decreased by 26% in August this year compared to the previous month and increased by 23% compared to the same month of 2021 to around 105,000 tons.
Among them, imports from Turkey took the largest share with approximately 53,300 tons, a significant increase of 85.4 percent year on year. Other primary sources of imports were Mexico and Algeria with separate volumes of 24,400 tons and 11,700 tons.
