Taiwan's ferrous scrap imports increased y-o-y

In January-April 2023, Taiwan's ferrous scrap imports increased by 13.5% y-o-y to around 1.1 million tons.

Imports from the US amounted to 407,500 tons (-6% yoy), while imports from Japan were 286,400 tons (+101% yoy).

The country's ferrous scrap imports in April totaled around 311,100 tons, down by 3.8% m/m and increased by 17% y/y.
