According to statistics, in 2022, due to the sanctions imposed on Russia after the Russian-Ukrainian war, Russia's stainless steel imports down by 19.6% annually to about 372,000 tons.
Russia's stainless steel imports amounted to about 35,000 tons, down by 8.2% from January a year earlier. In January this year, it increased by 15.4% compared to December.
China was the country with the largest share of Russia's stainless steel imports.
Imports of cold rolled stainless steel, which is among the imported steel products, increased by about 10%, hot rolled stainless steel by 31%, welded pipes by 77%, seamless pipes by 18% and long products by 2.5%.
