According to data shared by NBS (National Bureau of Statistics of China), China produced approximately 155 million tons of rebar in the first eight months of 2023, with an increase of 1.9% compared to the same period of 2022.
In the same period, wire rod production in China increased by 1% on an annual basis, reaching approximately 95 million tons; Welded pipe production increased by 12% annually and reached 42 million tons.
In August 2023, the country's rebar production decreased by 1.5% on an annual basis and decreased to 18 million tons. Wire rod production also decreased by 2.9% and was recorded as 11.9 million tons.
Welded pipe production increased by 7% annually and reached 5.5 million tons.
