Rebar demand weak as the new week begins

Rebar prices in the Turkish iron and steel market remained stable compared to Friday's closing prices.

Turkish steel producers continued to quote prices in the range of $580-600/ton depending on the region, while spot iron prices remained in the $585-590/ton range. Market representatives, on the other hand, said that demand is very sluggish.

November 27, 2023 www.steelradar.com evaluated spot rebar prices by region as follows;

Istanbul rebar prices 20,400 TL (705.66 USD)

Izmir rebar prices 20.000 TL (691.82 USD)

Karabuk rebar prices 20.300 TL (702.USD)

Payas rebar prices 20.500 TL (709.12 USD)

The uptrend in the scrap market stalled last week. Although suppliers were targeting prices as high as $400/ton cfr during the week, the last purchases were made at $385/ton cfr for 80/20 European scrap and $385/ton cfr for US scrap and $390/ton cfr for Türkiye.

1 USD = 28.90 TL
