YEO Technology subsidiary Reap Battery has started production

YEO Teknology’s wholly owned subsidiary, Reap Battery, has started producing LFP (Lithium-iron-phosphate) based energy storage systems at its advanced high-tech facilities in Tuzla, Istanbul. With this move, YEO Teknoloji aims to position Türkiye as a regional hub for energy storage manufacturing and technology through local production.

YEO Technology subsidiary Reap Battery has started production

With an annual production capacity of 5 GWh for energy storage systems, YEO Teknology will export its products to markets around the world from Istanbul. In addition to energy storage, the Reap Battery facility was established as an integrated technology hub where automation, digital energy management, IoT applications, and R&D activities are carried out together.

YEO Teknology, Türkiye’s global player in renewable energy and energy technologies, has taken a strategic step in the field of energy storage solutions, which is seen as the future of the industry. YEO Teknology celebrated the start of production at its wholly owned subsidiary Reap Battery’s factory in Tuzla, Istanbul, together with its employees. An official opening ceremony with the participation of industry leaders and public officials is also planned in the near future.

Energy Technology Hub

YEO Teknology will produce energy storage systems with an annual capacity of 5 GWh at the Reap Battery facility and export them worldwide from Istanbul. Beyond energy storage, the Reap Battery plant will operate as an integrated technology hub where automation, digital energy management, IoT applications, and R&D activities are carried out together. Reap Battery will bring together different components of the energy technology ecosystem under one roof in Istanbul.

Reap Battery’s factory in Tuzla was established as a tangible outcome of a strategic journey built on 21 years of experience and aimed at global goals. This production hub, opening from Istanbul to the world, will carry YEO Teknology’s high value-added energy technologies developed with its “We Believe It’s Possible” psilosophy to global markets.

Regional Manufacturing Hub

With an annual production capacity of 5 GWh for energy storage systems, the Reap Battery factory will be positioned as an export-oriented manufacturing hub serving not only the needs of the Turkish market but also the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa.

The facility will operate as a comprehensive center covering the design, manufacturing, and integration processes for energy storage systems suitable for renewable power plants and electrical grids, as well as commercial, industrial, and residential battery solutions and specialized energy storage solutions for mobility applications.Equipped with advanced, robot-assisted production lines, the Reap Battery factory will feature lithium-ion battery pack assembly, system integration, and robust quality and testing infrastructure, ensuring that energy storage systems are delivered to customers with high safety standards, long service life, and strong performance.Aligned with YEO Teknoloji’s engineering and EPC expertise, the facility will serve as a source of innovative, project-based, and needs-driven solutions.

Uninterrupted Green Energy

Emphasizing that the Reap Battery factory represents a key milestone in YEO’s long-term energy storage strategy, YEO Teknology CEO Tolunay Yıldız explained the company’s goals as follows:“The Reap Battery factory has become one of the most valuable outcomes of YEO Teknology’s global vision. The facility will serve high-capacity BESS solutions designed to meet the storage needs of renewable power plants, as well as systems for solar energy and grid integration. Our goal is to make Türkiye a regional manufacturing and engineering center for energy storage technologies. Wind, hydroelectric, and solar energy projects, along with grid modernization and energy storage projects that YEO Teknology is carrying out both domestically and internationally, will also be directly integrated into the factory’s production schedule.”

The factory will offer a wide range of battery solutions, from large-scale, grid-level energy storage systems to applications for the commercial and industrial segments. These batteries will operate in integration with YEO Teknoloji’s AI- and IoT-enabled digital energy solutions, as well as battery and energy management systems, maximizing overall efficiency.
