Malaysia to impose 5-year anti-dumping duty on Japan

The Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) of Malaysia has announced the imposition of a five-year anti-dumping (AD) measure on cold-rolled coils, effective from September 29, 2023, to September 28, 2028.

Malaysia to impose 5-year anti-dumping duty on Japan

As a result of the investigation, MITI has determined specific anti-dumping duty rates for various exporters and producers. Nippon Steel Corporation faces an AD duty rate of 9.03%, while other exporters and producers will be subject to a duty rate of 22.62%. It's worth noting that Daido Steel Co., Ltd. and JFE Steel Corporation have been excluded from the duty imposition due to their minimal dumping margin.

The scope of the products affected by this anti-dumping measure includes cold-rolled products of alloy or non-alloy steel with a thickness ranging from 0.20 mm to 2.60 mm and a width from 700 mm to 1,300 mm. However, imported tin mill black plate or cold-rolled coils intended for automotive, electrical, and electronic end uses have been excluded from this measure.
