The most active iron ore contract for September 2022 delivery closed at 830.5 yuan per tonne, down 30.5 yuan (approximately US$4.58).
On Tuesday, the total trading volume of 12 iron ore futures contracts traded on the exchange was 742,834 lots with a turnover of approximately 62.4 billion yuan.
China, the world's largest iron ore importer, opened its DCE iron ore futures to international investors in May 2018.
