After two consecutive weeks of decrease in hot rolled coil (HRC) prices, steelmakers took a little breather last week when prices increased by ₹400-500 ($5-6) per tonne.
In the merchant market, domestic HRC prices increased ₹400 ($5) per tonne to ₹59,710 ($723.61) per tonne weekly.
According to analysts, India's export price remained at $705-708 tonnes with the help of price increases from Far Eastern, Chinese and Russian suppliers.
China, South Korea and Japan increased their export hot rolled coil prices by $15-35 per tonne to $705-730 per tonne.
