The increase in global steel demand and the Turkish producers' actions to reduce product prices as part of their policy to increase demand have also affected scrap prices from ship dismantling.
For this week, scrap prices from shipbreaking have faced a sharp decrease.
Shipbreaking scrap prices, which were announced as $405-425 per tonne a week ago, decreased to $380-385 per tonne as of Tuesday, May 9 this week. The decrease caused a change of around $25-40 per tonne in prices.
