Hankook Steel receives KRW 2.6 billion new order

With the latest order, the company's share of the growing shipbuilding activity has increased, while its order backlog has also increased by approximately %30 compared with the end of last year.

According to Hankook Steel's announcement on August 11, the new order covers the supply of heavy steel casting components to be used in the hull structures of ships. The products covered by the order are planned to be used in approximately 12 vessels.

The new order forms part of an KRW 11.7 billion framework supply agreement signed between the two companies in December 2025. The agreement covers a total of 47 vessels, including LNG carriers and container ships, with individual orders to be converted into separate contracts based on confirmed requirements.

Under the agreement, Hankook Steel previously received an order worth KRW 3.7 billion in December 2025 and another order worth KRW 3.1 billion in April 2026. With the addition of the latest KRW 2.6 billion order, the total value of confirmed contracts with Samsung Heavy Industries has reached KRW 9.4 billion.

The remaining amount is also expected to be converted into new orders in the coming period.
