In the week ended March 29, steel plate prices were stable in Northern Europe and slightly lower in the quiet Italian market.
Italian re-rollers offered plate for May delivery at around €900-910 per tonne EXW, while stock prices for larger volumes remained below €900 per tonne EXW.
Indonesian and South Korean steel plate was offered in Italy at around €860-870 per tonne CFR for June delivery, largely stable over the past week.
An integrated plant in Germany offered May rolled plate to the spot market at €1,050 per tonne EXW.
Offers of €1,030-1,050 per tonne CPT for S355 grade plate for May delivery to Germany came from France and Denmark.
The weekly price assessment for domestic steel plate ex Northern Europe was €1,050 per tonne on Wednesday.
Market participants expect steel plate prices to stabilize in April.
