The global billet market remained quiet this week due to a lack of active trading.

What is happening in the global billet market?

The global billet market remained calm this week due to the lack of active trading.

China: Billet prices in China fell by $5 per ton to $467 per ton on October 13 compared to October 9, following the Golden Week holidays.

Thailand: Import billet offers remain unchanged. Offers for imported billets from the ASEAN region to Thailand are at the $520-525 per ton CFR level.

Vietnam: Billet export offers continue to progress steadily. Vietnam's BF grade billet export offers are at $495 per ton FOB level.

Billet prices in Southeast Asia have declined. The imported billet market in Southeast Asia continued to show weakness this week. While buyers were considering offers at $510 per ton CFR Manila, the offers given were at the $520 per ton CFR level.

Iran: Billet prices in Iran remained stronger but stayed at $475 per ton FOB level compared to the previous week.

Turkey: Local billet prices in Turkey saw a decrease of $30-40 per ton compared to the previous week, reaching the $520-530 per ton range.
