Brazilian mining company Vale has taken an important step towards reducing its carbon footprint, producing iron ore pellets without coal additions.
In the company's Pilot Vale project in the state of Minas Gerais, the biocarbon used is causing a significant reduction in emissions. This project is part of Vale's strategy to meet its commitment to total zero carbon emissions in direct and indirect emissions by 2050. At the same time, Vale's project produced 15,000 tons of coal-free pellets from biocarbon.
