In April 2023, the US imported 9.4% less steel than in March and 13.3% less steel than in April of the previous year. Total imports fell to 2,150,544 tons.
Canada imported 538.979 million tons, Mexico imported 313.176 million tons, Brazil imported 193.588 tons, South Korea imported 152.598 tons and Japan imported 117.696 tons.
The value of imports during this period amounted to 3.23 billion dollars.
