According to the preliminary Census Bureau data of the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported approximately 104,000 tons of steel coils in October this year. This figure was recorded as an increase of 8.5% compared to the previous year.
According to the data, imports from Canada had the largest share at around 58,800 tons, up 1.96% month on month and down 0.6% year on year. Other important sources of imports include Mexico (about 18,900 tons), South Korea (about 9,800 tons) and the Netherlands (about 8,500 tons).
In this period, the value of imports was approximately US$ 98 million, up 0.2% month on month and down 47.6% year on year.
