According to preliminary data from the US Department of Commerce, in January 2024, US hot-dip galvanized (HDG) imports totalled 193,959 tons, up by 11.1% from December and increased by 3.9% from the same month of the previous year.
In imports, value recorded $230.9 million in January 2024 indicating an increase compared to $202.4 million in December, but a decline compared to $233.4 million in January 2023.
The main sources of imports of HDG in January:
- Canada - 84,350 tons;
- Mexico - 24,720 tons;
- Vietnam - 21,741 tons;
- Brazil - 15,996 tons;
- South Korea - 7,254 tons.
