US experienced a decline in rebar imports

According to data retrieved from the US Department of Commerce, in December 2023, US rebar imports recorded 47.000 tons. This indicated a 32% decline m-o-m and a 38% decrease y-o-y.

Mexico had the largest share of imports

The largest shares of imports were made from Mexico amounting to approximately 14.000 tons while pointing out a %5.6 decline compared to the previous month and 33.1% decrease on a year-on-year basis.  Egypt ranked second with 11.000 tons and it was followed by Canada with 9.600 tons.

Import value %49,6 decreased on a year-on-year basis

The total import value amounted to around US$31 million, indicating a m-o-m decline of 28,2 % and a y-o-y decrease of 49,5%.
