Türkiye's global export share increased

The World Trade Organization (WTO) data revealed that Türkiye's share in global exports increased by 0.05 percentage points to 1.082% in the first quarter. Global exports reached $5.919 trillion in the first quarter.

The World Trade Organization (WTO) has published foreign trade statistics for the first quarter of 2024. According to a written statement from the Ministry of Trade, while global exports decreased by 0.6% to $5.919 trillion in the first quarter of 2024, Türkiye's exports increased by 3.6% to $63.603 billion.

On an annualized basis, global exports decreased by 4.2% to $23.808 trillion. Türkiye's exports, on the other hand, increased by 0.8% to $257.6 billion.

The statement said: "Despite the decline in global exports, our exports continued to increase. In this context, the upward trend in our annualized exports' share of global exports continued in the first quarter of 2024, rising by 0.05 percentage points from the first quarter of 2023 to 1.082%.

As the Ministry of Trade, we are working with all our might to further increase Türkiye's share in global trade with our policies and strategies that are focused on value-added, innovation, and competitiveness in export perspective. We will continue to evaluate global trade trends in the best way possible and increase the gains we have made to strengthen our position in the global supply chain."
