Prices in the Turkish imported scrap market continue to move upwards. In the Aegean region, prices increased by around $10/t for purchases from Europe.
According to market sources, an EU scrap shipment of HMS 1&2 80:20 scrap was bought at $342.5/t, while bonus and shredded scrap was bought at $362.5/t.
In addition, UK HMS 1&2 80:20 scrap was sold at $340/t, while EU HMS (80:20) was traded at the same price.
US bonus and shredded scrap traded at $362.5/t, with a total of around 30,000 tons purchased.
Market experts are closely monitoring global scrap supply and demand balances and the impact of exchange rates on prices. It remains to be seen how Türkiye's imported scrap import prices will evolve in the coming period.
