Türkiye and Egypt signed 17 agreements

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi paid an official visit to Türkiye after 12 years upon the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Türkiye and Egypt signed 17 agreements

The two leaders chaired the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council Meeting at the Presidential Complex and signed 17 agreements in various fields. These agreements included a memorandum of understanding on the development of the New Administrative Capital Industrial Park, cooperation in the railway sector, cooperation in the field of health and medical sciences, cooperation in the field of environmental protection and urban planning.

During the talks, it was emphasized that steps will be taken to increase the trade volume between the two countries to 15 billion dollars within five years. As Türkiye and Egypt are preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their diplomatic relations next year, this visit is considered to be an important step towards strengthening relations between the two countries and increasing cooperation for regional peace.

Commenting on the talks, President Erdoğan said, “We confirmed our will to advance our cooperation with Egypt in all fields including industry, trade, defense, health, environment and energy.
