Turkish imported scrap prices, which were at the level of 425-426 $ / ton before the big earthquake on February 6, decreased with a new agreement from the US on Friday last week.
A Marmara-based steelmaker bought the US scrap as cfr Turkey for HMS 1&2 80:20 $418/ton, Shredded and Bonus $438/ton.
While uncertainty continued in the operating status of factories in the Iskenderun region, Turkey's imported scrap prices also remained under pressure.
Again, some suppliers who had sales contracts with producers in this region had to direct their cargo to other regions or postpone their shipments.
