Toyota Motor Corp announced that it has decided to suspend operations on some production lines at its seven plants in Japan from June 17 to July 8, with a shortage of semiconductors continuing at one plant caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 11 production lines will be stopped at seven jobs. In June, Toyota has produced approximately 750,000 vehicles worldwide so far, which is below the previous monthly production target of 800,000 units.
However, the company will maintain its global production target of 9.7 million units in the 2022 fiscal year.
