The Tosyalı group will develop the configuration and requirements for a complex to produce a total of 4 million tonnes per year of hot rolled coil, cold rolled coil, galvanised coil, tinplate and silicon steel sheet.
The primary focus will be on the local automotive, food packaging, machinery and energy sectors, as well as exports.
Tosyalı Chairman Fuat Tosyalı signed an agreement with Matar Al-Harthi, Vice President, Minerals and Metals, National Industrial Development Centre (NIDC) at the Minerals of the Future Forum in Riyadh. The signing ceremony was attended by Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia, and Khalil Ibn Salamah, General Manager of NIDC.
Tosyalı had also recently acquired Baika Steel Tubular System (STS), a Spanish helical welded steel (SAW) pipe manufacturer.
