According to a statement from the company, Tosyalı DRI II produced 248,601 tons of direct reduced iron in May, setting a new monthly production record.
The plant’s average production rate stood at 334.1 tons per hour, surpassing the previous record of 328.6 tons per hour recorded in January 2026 and setting a new world record among MIDREX® plants.
The plant continued production throughout May without any unplanned shutdowns. Meanwhile, with an average efficiency of 316.9 tons per hour during the January-May 2026 period, it set a new annual efficiency world record among MIDREX® plants.
This performance exceeded not only the plant’s average efficiency of 312.7 tons per hour in 2025 but also its design capacity of 312.5 tons per hour.
Tosyalı Holding stated that, with these results, Tosyalı DRI II had established a new performance standard among MIDREX® plants worldwide and congratulated all employees who contributed to this achievement.
