TMK completed the test phase of the pipes used in high pressure gas pipelines

High-strength large diameter pipes manufactured by TMK Pipeline Solutions have successfully passed pneumatic tests at a test site in the Chelyabinsk region. The pipes, which can withstand up to 150 pressure values, are designed for main gas pipelines and are promising for the new generation.

TMK completed the test phase of the pipes used in high pressure gas pipelines

Pipes with a diameter of 1420 mm and strength class K70 were manufactured at the TMK production site in Chelyabinsk at the Vysota 239 workshop. During the tests, it was noted that they showed high strength and resistance to long-term destruction. At the first stage of testing the pipes, pipes with a wall thickness of 26.3 mm were tested, then the test stage of pipes with an increased wall thickness of 31.6 mm was carried out.

According to the results of the tests, the high strength of the metal used in K70 pipes made it possible to increase the working pressure in the gas pipeline without a simultaneous increase in the wall thickness of the pipe, making it possible to increase the efficiency of the gas pipeline without increasing the metal consumption.
